“From the outside, the rivalry may seem intense, but on the field we play in a competitive yet friendly environment,” Nissanka said in an exclusive interview with Cricfrenzy.
“As a player, I enjoy it because I believe such competition helps improve my performance.”
On the topic of franchise cricket, the Sri Lankan top-order batter expressed openness to playing abroad, especially in leagues like the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) or the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) — both of which have long featured Sri Lankan talent.

“If I get the opportunity to play in a recognized league, I will certainly play. But my first priority is always my country. Beyond that, if time and opportunity align, I’m ready to play,” Nissanka said.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the series-deciding T20I tomorrow, with both teams locked at 1–1 in what has been an intense and emotionally charged contest.
