Shakib to play for Dubai Capitals in Global Super League

Shakib Al Hasan is set to represent Dubai Capitals in the upcoming Global Super League (GSL), which kicks off in the second week of July. Shakib was included in the squad following an injury to South African spinner Keshav Maharaj.
Each participating team will play four matches in the league stage, with the top two teams advancing directly to the final on July 18.

According to the schedule, Dubai Capitals will begin their campaign on July 10 against Central Stags. Their next matches are scheduled for July 11 against Hobart Hurricanes, July 13 against Guyana Amazon Warriors, and their final group-stage match on July 16 will be against Rangpur Riders.
Meanwhile, Rangpur Riders, the team representing Bangladesh, will open their tournament on July 13 against Guyana Amazon Warriors. They will play Hobart Hurricanes on July 14, Dubai Capitals on July 16, and conclude the group stage on July 17 against Central Stags.
Despite the added challenges in this edition, Rangpur Riders aim to defend their GSL title, which they won in the inaugural season under the leadership of Nurul Hasan Sohan. Soumya Sarkar and Kamrul Islam Rabbi were among the top performers in that campaign.
