However, Bangladesh’s pacers turned the tide in the final overs. The hosts were eventually bowled out for 164 in the last over, giving the visitors a 1–0 lead in the two-match series. This win also marked a successful start to Litton Das’s full-time captaincy in T20 internationals.

Their 62-run stand for the third wicket gave UAE momentum. Asif Khan kept the hopes alive with a fiery 42 off 21 balls, hammering four sixes and three fours, including three consecutive sixes off Sheikh Mehedi Hasan.
But Hasan Mahmud dismissed Asif in the 19th over, triggering a collapse that saw UAE lose their last five wickets for just 10 runs.
The teams will meet again on Monday for the second and final T20I at the same venue, with Bangladesh eyeing a series sweep.
