The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that ICC match referee Andy Pycroft has apologised to the Pakistan team management and captain following the controversial incident during the India–Pakistan Asia Cup clash on September 14.

Pycroft had barred the captains of India and Pakistan from shaking hands after the match, a move that drew strong protest from the PCB. The board described the action as unacceptable and against the spirit of the game.

In his explanation, Pycroft admitted that the incident was the result of a miscommunication and apologised for his decision.
