The once dreaded cutter-master Mustafizur Rahman is trying his best to reclaim his former self. Mustafizur, who is not very keen on doing skill training all alone, looks desperate as he opted to come to the academy premises to hone his bowling skill all alone while his teammates are staying inside the house as all the domestic tournament is postponed for coronavirus pandemic.

Mustafizur Rahman says to media on Wednesday (18 March) that he is losing his confidence in Yorker delivery after getting recovered from his injuries and trying to improve it.

Getting wicket is regular to Mustafiz but his economy rate becoming higher than before nowadays. Speaking of it he said that he is changing something and learning new tricks. But is losing confidence in case of yorker deliveries.

He said that, "'My yorker is not the same as before. I do not have that confidence, But I'm trying to do what would be better for me. And also trying to improve my cutter delivery too."

He also said that he thinks he sees some improvement through the Zimbabwe series where he got seven wickets in both ODIs and Twenty20s.

He said that, "I played two ODIs in the Zimbabwe series, played two T20s. Especially in the first 10 overs of the ODI, I tried to get turn in the ball. Not too much, but close. couple of deliveries were very good. I have to come, it will not be done in one day. I worked for two weeks. InshaAllah it will get better day by day."

Despite getting a wicket this 24 year old left-arm pacer is giving away too much runs when bowling. Which is why he has been reduced to salary structure under the new contract of Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Mustafiz, who got Taka three lakh per month according to last year contract, will get two lakh taka per month under the new contract.

The board did not deal with him in red ball cricket. Mustafiz, however, is not worried about this. Just said, he wants to play in all three formats.
