International cricket returned to Bangladesh after 313 days against West Indies as the first match of the three-match ODI series has started Wednesday at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Tigers have joined the 'Black Lives Matter' movement along with visitor West Indies, who were vocal about the movement from the beginning.
Five minutes before the start of the match, the cricketers of the two teams kneeled on one leg and raised their fist showing solidarity with the movement. Earlier, Bangladesh cricket board (BCB) inaugurated the event with a small ceremony.

However, during the West Indies’ England tour in June-July last year, the Caribbeans kneeled to show solidarity with the movement.
BLM Protests started last year after the killing of George Floyd, who died in May after a police officer knelt on his neck during his arrest in Minneapolis.
