Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has urged Mohammad Amir to show "maturity" and sort out the issue’s with national team management and make a comeback in the Pakistan team.
In December of last year, Amir announced his retirement from international cricket. Amir said in a statement that he would not play for the national side until Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis, the national team's head coach and bowling coach are in charge.
"Amir should have realized that 'papa' Mickey Arthur will not always be there to safeguard him and he has to now grow up," Akhtar told PTV in an interview.

"You must be matured enough to realise that the management is not going to act according to my wishes. Therefore now I have to raise my performance and level of hard work," he said.
Akhtar gave the example of senior batsman Mohammad Hafeez saying that at a time the Pakistan management was not with the batsman. Akhtar also supported coach Misbah's stance on Amir.
"The management was also against Hafeez. But he just made runs and nothing else. He didn't give the management an envelope full of cash. Amir should learn that from Hafeez," he said.
"Misbah is right when he says that Amir's pace has gone down. There is nothing wrong with that assessment. I don't think the team management was unfair with Amir. They gave him ample chances before he was dropped from the team," he added.
The left-arm pacer, who once compared to Wasim Akram, played 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is for Pakistan from 2009-2021. He also served a five-year ban for his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.
