The newly-included batsman in the Bangladesh squad, Fazle Mahmud, has been playing in the domestic circuit of the country for over 14 years. Emerging as a hard-hitter of the ball, the southpaw had to go through a lot of change, as becoming the "Chris Gayle" of Bangladesh was not really serving his purpose.

Fazle's failures because of his batting style in the past led to him adopting a different approach which later gave him success. His brilliant performance in Bangladesh A team's tour of Ireland and in the domestic circuit forced the team management change their stance to consider a 30-year-old for the national team, that too, when he has no previous experience of playing at international levels.

"It is true that I enjoyed the Gayle tag but in the long run I understood that it had more negative impact on my batting as more often than not my innings ended prematurely. Nowadays I am more concerned on playing ones and twos but that does not imply that I have forgotten to hit sixes," Fazle told Cricfrenzy.

Fazle will now look to showcase his talent if he is handed a debut during Bangladesh's three-ODI series against Zimbabwe  this month.
