Former Bangladesh opener Nafees Iqbal has been tested negative from coronavirus in his last report.
Nafees confirmed this himself to Cricfrenzy.com on Wednesday. In his words he said that he has been confirmed negative, he and his family and his mother is now safe.
The 34-year-old also urged everyone to pray for their well being.
"Assalamualaikum everyone. Everyone all of us, my family, my mother all of us tested negative. So Alhamdulillah. All for your prayers, the way you have taken care, the way you have taken information, not only as a journalist but also showed your thoughts, your care personally and I am sure you have prayed, as a result of which I may have been negative," Nafees Iqbal said.
"So do the prayer this way. Thank you so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you on behalf of my family," he added.
Nafees is the elder brother of current ODI skipper and also another veteran and most successful opener of Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal, confirmed coronavirus positive on 20 June. After being at home isolation in Chittagong today their report came negative.
The right-hander former opening batsman, made his debut for Bangladesh in 2003 but has been out of the national team since 2006.
Nafees played 11 Tests and 16 ODIs for Bangladesh, scoring 518 and 309 runs respectively.
