Ahead of the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Sohel Islam as the spin bowling coach. He replaces Pakistan’s Mushtaq Ahmed, who has been given a break for this series, a source confirmed the matter to Cricfrenzy.

Sohel Islam is no stranger to the role, having previously served as the national team’s spin coach. He has also worked with the Bangladesh Tigers and has coaching experience in domestic competitions like the Dhaka Premier League and the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Alongside the change in the spin department, a new addition has been made to the fielding unit. James Pamment has joined as the fielding coach ahead of the Zimbabwe series. Discussions are also ongoing regarding the appointment of a pace bowling coach.

The Tigers' preparation camp began on Sunday in Sylhet. The first of the two-match Test series will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from April 20 to 24. The second Test is scheduled for April 28 to May 2 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
