Julian Wood to join Bangladesh camp ahead of Asia Cup

World-renowned power-hitting coach Julian Wood is set to join the Bangladesh cricket set-up in August as part of their preparations for the 2025 T20 Asia Cup, which begins on September 9 in the UAE.

The Bangladesh national team is currently on a break following a packed playing schedule but will resume training with a preparation camp starting August 6 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Wood, widely credited for revolutionizing England’s white-ball game with innovative power-hitting techniques, is expected to arrive in Dhaka before the camp begins. He will work with the squad for three weeks to enhance their batting firepower.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, a senior Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed Wood’s involvement, noting the coach is expected to be in Dhaka ahead of the camp.
Wood has previous experience working with Bangladeshi players, having coached the Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League.
