BCB Director and Chairman of the Umpires Committee, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, commented on the issue, saying:

“I saw the news in the media this morning. Our officials, Aminul Islam Bulbul and Fahim [Nazmul Abedin] bhai, have also seen it. An investigation is already underway. If this really happened, it is very unfortunate. Icon players should not be involved in such matters. I don’t want to comment further until we know exactly what happened.”

Attempts to reach Taskin Ahmed for comment were unsuccessful. His phone was found switched off, and he did not respond to WhatsApp calls either. Efforts to contact his father, Abdur Rashid, also went unanswered.

Just days ago, Taskin played a key role for Bangladesh in the third T20I against Pakistan. After earning praise for his on-field performance, the pacer now finds himself at the center of a serious off-field controversy.
