The company was launched in March-April 2023 by national cricketers Imrul Kayes and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, along with bat-maker Hossain Mohammad Aftab Shahin.
Since its inception, several cricketers — including Miraz, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, and Rishad Hossain — have used MKS bats at the international level, helping the brand make a mark in competitive cricket.
While currently out of the national team setup, Shakib remains a high-demand figure in franchise cricket worldwide. Leveraging his global popularity, MKS Sports aims to expand its presence on the international stage. A reliable source has confirmed that an agreement between Shakib and MKS is in place.
Earlier, MKS made headlines by sponsoring bats for players of Bangladesh's U-19 team. Ahead of the U-19 World Cup in South Africa, MKS supported eight out of the 15 squad members, pledging to provide each player annually with four bats, six pairs of gloves, and two pairs of pads.
This strategic move to bring in Shakib as brand ambassador signals MKS’s ambition to become a prominent name in global cricket gear manufacturing, starting from its roots in Bangladesh.
