The Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura has been rendered unplayable after just a day of rainfall, owing to its poor drainage system. Akram Khan confirmed yesterday that it would take several more days to make the ground fit for play.

Today, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially announced that the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL) T20 tournament has been postponed. No new date for resumption has yet been set.

The previous edition of the NCL T20 was held solely in Sylhet. This time, based on demand, BCB expanded the tournament venues to include Rajshahi and Bogura alongside Sylhet. However, the monsoon season has made it nearly impossible to carry on the matches as planned.

On the opening day, the Sylhet vs Rangpur fixture was abandoned without play, while Bogura’s match didn’t even see a toss due to persistent rain.

Rain also affected Rajshahi, where the Dhaka Metro vs Rajshahi clash was reduced to just five overs per side. Metro eventually won by seven wickets, powered by a flurry of boundaries.

BCB had already adjusted the fixture list yesterday, shifting Sylhet’s matches from September 21 to September 22. However, due to ongoing disruptions, the board has now decided to suspend the competition indefinitely.
