Captain Anamul Haque Bijoy might consider himself unlucky after his valiant century failed to secure a win for Durbar Rajshahi. Despite his heroic effort, Rajshahi fell agonizingly short, losing to Khulna Tigers by 7 runs in a nail-biting encounter at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.

Chasing a daunting target of 210, Rajshahi required 25 runs off the last 12 balls. Khulna's Pakistani pacer bowled a tight 19th over, conceding only 8 runs and putting Rajshahi under immense pressure.

With 17 runs needed off the final over, Bijoy and Akbar Ali managed to score only 9 runs against Hasan Mahmud, handing Khulna a much-needed victory.

This win marked Khulna's first triumph in their last five matches under Mehidy Hasan Miraz's leadership.

Earlier, Khulna set a formidable total of 209, thanks to contributions from almost every batter. Afif Hossain and Will Bosisto scored crucial half-centuries, while Mahidul Islam Ankon provided a late flourish with a blistering 30 off just 12 balls.

Khulna's openers Mohammad Naim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave the team a flying start with a 42-run partnership in just 23 balls. Naim scored 27 off 14 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes, before being bowled by Zisan Alam. Miraz contributed 26 off 13 balls before falling to Taskin Ahmed.

Afif and Bosisto then steadied the innings with a 113-run stand for the fourth wicket. Afif struck 56 off 42 balls, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes, while Bosisto remained unbeaten on 55 off 37 balls. Mahidul's late blitz, featuring 4 sixes, ensured Khulna posted a massive total.

For Rajshahi, Bijoy fought valiantly with a magnificent century, but the lack of support from the other end proved costly.
