The Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided to postpone the matches of the ongoing Bangabandhu DPL 2019-20 due to coronavirus epidemic. In a press release BCB confirmed that.
It says that, “BCB has decided to postpone the second round of matches of Bangabandhu Premier Division Cricket League. The BCB will take further decision on rescheduling and restarting the League according to the health and safety advisory of the Bangladesh Government.”
The second round of the league match was scheduled to be played on 18 and 19 March. But the matches will be rescheduled on a convenient time now.
The matches of first round are finished on Monday 16 March. Crowd gathering were hardly seen during matches. Also cricketers were asked to follow some rules like not shaking hands or spitting on the bowl.
From international cricket to domestic cricket league every event is seeing to be postponed because of this fear of coronavirus. Indian Premier League has been delayed from 29 March to 15 April, while Cricket West Indies have put all regional tournaments on hold from 16 March. Pakistan Cricket Board and Bangladesh cricket board also agreed to postpone their third phase of the series against Bangladesh earlier today.
