The Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) is coming forward to combat the coronavirus. They have created a fund, so that they can help the underprivileged people and everyone is urged to send help.
Recently 27 cricketers raised fund of about 30 lac BDT to support underprivileged people of the country who are the most sufferer due to the house arrest situation because of coronavirus. Everyone players in the list gave half of their monthly salary to the fund.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic people around the world are in their home isolated themselves from social gathering. In this situation, the most vulnerable are the day laborer. They are in dire straits of money and food for lack of work. At the time of the outbreak of the coronavirus, former cricketers led by Akram Khan are raising funds to help the underprivileged people.
CWAB has officially taken the initiative to stand beside the poor people of the society. In a press release on Wednesday, CWAB said that.
For this, a committee has been formed with all present and former cricketers and all cricket organizers. BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon, has been decided to be the chief advisor of the committee.
BCB Director and CWAB president Naimur Rahman Durjoy has been named as the convenor of the committee. Khaled Mahmud Sujan, Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque are the joint conveners.
Also on the advisory committee there are former cricketer Tanvir Mazhar Tanna, Enayet Hossain Siraj, BCB Director Mr Sajjadul Alam Bobi. Through which the co-operation of the CWAB will be conducted at the division, district and upazila level. In Bangladesh, current and former cricketers, cricket organizers and cricket fans have been invited to participate in this program.
