After winning the Under-19 World Cup, young tigers were looking forward to keep some impacts in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Unfortunately, they have to wait for a long time to take the next challenge.
Due to Coronavirus pandemic, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to halt every planned cricketing event, both international and domestic. So, cricketers have got unwanted vacation for a long period of time.
In this stagnant situation, the Under 19 World Cup heroes have to pass boring time in their homes. However, captain Akbar Ali along with other five cricketers from under 19 team believe that good days are coming soon. Recently, they have shared their daily routine and own thoughts about cricket with a daily newspaper. Let's have a look at what they said:
Akbar Ali: Don't have any other option. Spending times by watching movies and playing games at home. Even sometimes I pass my time by playing chess. I also do all the exercises to keep myself fit. However, I have to work on fitness even if there's no match. The time is boring, everyone has to stay at home.
Tanzid Hassan Tamim: Being at home is boring. I am sharing time with everyone in my family. I watch movies and do exercise at home. There is not much chance of playing at home. I just hope our country will get rid off this situation quickly and we can get back into the game soon, that's all.
Tanzim Hassan Shakib: I am passing my time by enjoying reading books and watching movies. I do exercise in the morning, working with fitness at home. Besides, I do swimming. However, no other games attract me much as cricket does. I got a big platform when the premier league was running. Planned a lot, but nothing was done. Unfortunately, I have to accept everything.
Shariful Islam: I am working on fitness at home. I used to run in the morning during this period and play carom at home in my leisure time with brother and uncle. If we are all are conscious and maintain rules than we can get rid off the situation soon. We know that it would be risky to go outside now. The faster I will return to the field, the more comfortable I'll be.
Shamim Hossain: I am passing my time by sleeping and eating only. I also work on fitness. I don't like watching movies. Not going out has been good for me. So I am taking rest.
Rakibul Hasan: I am at home with my family. I used to go to the roof sometimes. I'm doing what our trainer Richard Stonier taught us. I play carom during this time. Besides Chess is another game which I like to play sometimes. Along with Chess, I also play Ludo. No one wants this kind of time. I had a lots of expectation with the Dhaka Premier League. Now there is no other way except waiting.
