Left arm opener Shadman Islam back in Test cricket after a wrist injury and played a descent innings of 59 runs on the opening day of the first Test against West Indies. But he could convert his innings into triple figure, if the on field umpire didn’t give a wrong decision and Shadman called for review.
On the first day of the Chittagong Test, Shadman paired up with experienced Tamim Iqbal but Tamim (9) got out early. Shadman played a patient innings of 59 from 154 balls before being dismissed by Jomel Warrican with a wrong on field decision. Although the television camera was telling a different story. After discussing with partner Mushfiqur Rahim, he chose not to review.
“Reviews should have been taken. I thought that the ball pitched in line and would hit the stump. Disappointed. But it is part of the match, we have to accept. Mushfiq bhai asked, what happened? I told him, it seems to me that was in line and will hit the wicket. That is why I did not take the review.” Shadman said after day 1.

25 years old batsman has hit his second Test fifty but failed to convert into the magical figure. Though he claimed that he is trying his level best to make an effort for the team after a long break.
