Before the New Zealand tour, several players of the Bangladesh national cricket team received Covid-19 vaccine in the capital's Kurmitola General Hospital on Thursday. According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), a total of 36 cricketers will be vaccinated in two days.
Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, all-rounder Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed among the cricketers got the vaccine today. While national coach Russell Domingo and pace bowling coach also took the Corona vaccine.
“I think the whole thing is the way the Bangladesh government is doing it is actually encouraging. Actually we always point out different kinds of negative things but this is one thing I think we should share the positive thing. The thing is happening so beautifully. It’s not that we are national team cricketers, that’s why it’s happening very smoothly.” said Tamim.

Tamim admitted that it was scary at first but he believes when people will know about the vaccine they’ll understand. He also hailed Bangladesh government for the vaccination program.
“See the fear was there of course, I will not deny it. But if you know a little bit about the thing, maybe when you explain the thing to someone, you will understand the thing. We are lucky that we are getting this thing. On other first tier countries, there haven’t been given these much vaccine like ours, where we are at number 12 position.” he added.
Earlier, BCB Boss Nazmul Hassan Papon also got the Covid-19 vaccine.
