It’s ‘32-0’ as NZ clean sweep Bangladesh in T20I series

Bangladesh are returning home empty-handed as they lost to the hosts New Zealand in the third and final T20I for 65 runs and got whitewashed the three-match series in Eden Park, Auckland Thursday. The visitors have now lost 32 out of 32 matches in New Zealand soil.
To chase a mountain 142 runs from allotted 10 overs, Bangladesh lost two top-order batsmen in the opening over of Skipper Tim Southee. After hitting two boundaries Soumya Sarkar was caught and bowled from Southee’s fifth delivery. In the next ball, Tiger’s seventh T20I Captain Liton Das has failed to frame the day as he was bowled for naught.
Another opener Mohammad Naim and the new inclusion of the squad Najmul Hossain Shanto tried to build a partnership but Todd Astle returned Naim for 19 and broke the partnership of 20 runs. Naim hit 2 sixes and 1 four. Astle then sent off his partner Shanto immediately for 8 runs in the last ball of that over.
The replacement of Ish Sodhi, Astle bagged his third wicket and sent back Afif Hossain for 8. Afif tried to sweep and missed, heal of the back foot was in the air and keeper Devon Conway didn’t miss the chance. After that Astle putted Bangladesh in the grave as he grabbed his fourth wicket. Mahedi Hasan gone to the pavilion for naught at 52 on the board.

After the departure of Mahedi, pacer Shoriful Islam (6), Taskin Ahmed (5), Nasum Ahmed (3) could not stay for long and Mosaddek Hossain returned scoring 13 runs, he became the third victim of Tim Southee. Apart from him, Adam Milne, Lockie Ferguson and Phillips got one wicket each.
Earlier, A stormy half-century from Finn Allen steered New Zealand to 141 runs in the rain-hit third and final T20I against Bangladesh in Eden Park, Auckland.
Allen and Martin Guptil started the innings after losing the toss and they promptly hitting Bangladesh bowlers from the start. After 85 runs opening partnership, Mahedi Hasan returned Guptil, who scored 44 off 19 balls with one four and 5 sixes.
Allen made his maiden T20 half-century off 18 balls as his innings of 71 off 29 balls was ended by Taskin Ahmed. Then Glenn Phillips was sent off by Shoriful Islam, who returned scoring 14 off 6 balls. Soumya took the catch from the mid-off.
The Bangladesh team have played without Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah for the first time in 15 years.
