The New Zealand cricket squad will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday for the start of a five-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The series is set to start from September 1.

The New Zealand team will arrive in the capital on a commercial flight in the afternoon, and after completing the necessary formalities at the airport, the visitors will be transported to the team hotel, where they will be subjected to a three-day statutory room quarantine.

Two members of the squad, Finn Allen and Colin de Grandhomme have already arrived in Dhaka last Friday.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has promised the New Zealand squad hospitality and a Covid-19 procedure identical to that which was in place earlier this month for the Australian cricket team.

Spinner Ajaz Patel is looking forward to the steep but exciting challenge of facing Bangladesh.

“Obviously we know the sub-continent can be quite challenging for teams like New Zealand and Australia. So we know we're up against different opposition in their home (Bangladesh and Pakistan) country. It is a different prospect. They are a lot stronger at home and they do play cricket differently in those conditions,” Patel said before leaving for two bilateral series.

“So I guess for us it's about adaptability and being able to adapt our game and change our game as quickly as possible to fight in those conditions.”
