Match winner Rovman Powell said he has matured as a batter rather than just a big "hitter" after his unbeaten 28-ball 61 against Bangladesh in the second T20I in Dominica gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after the opening was rained out the day before at the same venue owing to rain.
"I stopped looking at myself as a big hitter. I start looking at myself as a batsman with power. With that comes control, know when to take a single, know when to attack. I think it has served me well so far,” Powell said.
"Growth is an important part in any professional sport. From both skill and mental perspective. I think I am growing in each passing year. I want to continue to learn."

Powell stated that they understand that their fans are expecting more from this group ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year.
In an effort to move away from veterans, the West Indies have fielded a young side against Bangladesh, with Powell serving as the deputy captain under new captain Pooran.
"It is a change in the guard, to be honest. Our legends Chris Gayle, [Dwayne] Bravo and [Kieron] Pollard sit back and let us youngsters come through. We have to take this opportunity to bring smiles back to the people of the Caribbean," he added.
